What makes good design?
Good design contains strong balance and contrast. For example you could balance big shapes with smaller detailed areas. You can contrast something familiar with something unexpected. Having a union between form and function is also a great way of allowing the intent of your design speak for itself. Make confident decisions and have secondary elements support the your main idea.
What can kill a design?
Too much detail, bad tangents, and redundancy of shape size or detail can kill a design.
