Dr. Barmak Heshmat received his Ph.D. at the University of Victoria in 2013 and his M. Sc. and B.Sc. at the Isfahan University of Technology in 2006 and 2008 respectively. Barmak finished his Ph.D. work on enhancement of THz photoconductive switches using nanotechnology with 10 scientific journal publications and 3 patents. He then joined the Camera culture group at MIT media lab as postdoc associate. His research interest covers a wide range of topics in optics and photonics. Dr. Heshmat has given numerous talks on cutting edge technologies and their future such as “Business of invisibles” at TEDxUVic “Before your immortality” at Boston Convention center and other talks on his youtube channel “Future Avenues”.
I am a researcher at MIT. I got my PhD in Photonics (which is a subfield of electrical engineering). Now I work on optics and advanced imaging systems.
